The Enterprising — Empowering Youth, Building Stronger Communities

Our Mission

Founded in January 2022, The Enterprising is a nonprofit organization dedicated to amplifying youth voices and empowering them to connect with people across all age groups.
We address key grassroots challenges — including food, shelter, clothing, education, environmental sustainability, and, most importantly, mental and emotional health — issues that affect individuals of all ages, races, and backgrounds.

How It All Began

Our story started with one simple idea: reduce food waste and promote environmental sustainability.
This vision inspired our first Food Drive Initiative, providing donations to underserved communities and local shelters.

Since then, we’ve collected and donated over 3,000 pounds of food — including fresh produce, canned goods, and boxed meals — and proudly partnered with:
United Nations • Food Gatherers • Soup Kitchen • Sewa International • Michigan India Community Services

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we supported numerous meal drives to help families in need.

Expanding Our Impact

We’ve grown into environmental advocates for the City of Canton and neighboring areas.
In collaboration with city officials, we have:

Collected 15,000+ tons of produce
Engaged 1,200+ volunteers
Reduced food waste and carbon emissions

We continue to host community-driven events with partners such as:
Art of Living • Sewa International • Mai Family Services • Palav • AmeriCorps • Vallabh Youth Organization • Pure Youth International • AIWA (Asian Women’s Organization)

Major Initiatives

Camps — Serving 800+ seniors, youth, and adults.
Senior Technology Workshops — Empowering 350+ seniors over three years.
Walkathons — 1,000+ participants, raising $15,000 for local causes.
Pregnancy & Parenting Workshops — Supporting maternal well-being.
Bag Painting & Sewing Drives — Promoting creativity and sustainability.
Chutney Festival Fundraisers — Raised $5,000 for sanitation and computer literacy for 5,000+ underprivileged children.
Smart Blind Stick Drives — Raised $17,000, distributing 600 smart sticks to the visually impaired.
Annual Music Concerts & Talent Programs — Engaged 200 participants, raised $25,000 for community projects.
International Yoga Day Celebrations — 1,000+ participants statewide.
American India Legislative Day — Advocating for mental health and gun safety.
Career & College Guidance Workshops — Helping 70+ students with academic planning.
Nutrition & Mental Health Sessions — Engaging 100+ youth in holistic wellness programs.
